What are Designers Thankful for this Thanksgiving?

Christmas is just around the corner and the start of 2010 also, before all the rush and panic of Christmas we have a few days to reflect on what we are all truly thankful for. You may have long lists for what you what Santa to bring you this Christmas, but just take a moment to think what you are truly thankful for this year. This got me think what as a design community would we be thankful for? I was really happy with the great responses i received and thank everyone for taking a moment of there time to respond and make this post possible.

This Thanksgiving I Am Thankful For…

Leslie Kingery

(@kalstudio)

Is Thankful for squarespace, itunes, always illustrator with wacom pad & online- pandora, grooveshark.

Eric Noguchi

(@pixel_jockey)

I Couldn’t do without InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Acrobat. Totally essential to what I do, oh, & dual monitors.

Nikki Smith-Morgan

(@nsmithmorgan)

Thankful for an online design culture where everyone freely shares ideas. Not a problem you can encounter that someone has already solved.

Nikki Brown

(@nikibrown)

I’m thankful for my netbook – it enables me to work on the go (and it runs photoshop and illustrator pretty well!)

Amanda Manz

(@GritFX)

What am I thankful for… can I say “my brain” – best piece of software I have (or would you call it hardware!?) Also thankful for Skype, it makes it easier to work from a remote location + has helped break down old expectations when it comes to networking.

BK Macdaddy Designs

(@bkmacdaddy)

Hmmm… well the obvious answer is Adobe CS4. But I am most thankful (in advance) for the new computer I am planning for Christmas. I could also say Twitter because it has been integral in blowing up my freelance design business.

Danelle Bailey

(@danellesheree)

It’s a bit cliche, but my iPhone (named Lucida!) It helps bring everything with me – work, finances and family – and makes my life easier.

Francois Pham

(@francoispham)

I don’t know. My artist pen and my brushes maybe, i’m French and don’t want to tell you anything.

Lauren Thompson

(@nymphont)

I’m thankful for FontCreator, an affordable but very capable program that allowed me to make the fonts that I make.

Scarletbits

(@Scarletbits)

I am thankful for the new awesome working station: iMac 27″ and the 64bit snow leopard!

Christopher Flores

(@crflores84)

I am thankful for SketchUp, it gives you the complexity of AutoCAD with the easy to use interface of Google.

Mathew Ballard

(@mathewballard)

Hardware wise, my Macbook Pro and iPhone for sure. They do pretty much everything for me. Software wise the Adobe CS3 suite.

Laurent Bourrelly

(@Laurent8)

I guess MAMP made a breeze to develop local under OS X. WordPress is better and better. CODA is cool, but Dreamweaver is flawless.

Brian Hoff

(@behoff)

I am definitely thankful for Dropbox. It’s intuitive and convenient! Love it :)

Elizabeth Daniell

(@EDGraphicDesign)

I am very thankful for my MAC and the Adobe Creative Suite 3. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop & Dreamweaver are 4 of my best friends.

meJared Thompson (Me)

(@Jthompsondesign)

I’m thankful for Adobe CS4 and My Aluminium Macbook, without these tools i would not have passed my second year. I’m thankful for Indesign making my research look presentable and neatly spaced.

Anca Foster

(@anca_foster)

I’m thankful for Adobe Illustrator.

Michelle

(@BellasMental)

Thankful for picasa 3, photoshop, any USB connectable device & incredimail.

Jeff Claeson

(@dreamtime)

I am very thankful for my 9 month old Macbook Pro/child, for Adobe After Effects and (as always) Adobe Illustrator. :)

Gerrel Saunders

(@gaksdesigns)

I’m thankful for Photoshop CS4 and most definitely Twitter,it’s done wonders for me! :)

Abby Bonwell

(@AbbyBonwell)

That’s a toss up between my love for my genuine fractals package but also am loving my TextSoap app too… both great investments!

Design Pro

(@Design_Pro)

I’m thankful for Macs. They allow me to work on projects without worrying about the computer crashing or freezing and losing all of my work.
