Awesomely Designed Band T-shirts |
I’d be willing to bet you remember the first band t-shirt you ever owned. You might even remember whether it was rock-on love at first sight at the Khol’s you’ve just been dragged around 3 times by your mother, that you just HAD TO HAVE, or if it was a gift from the uncle that your family doesn’t really talk to too much anymore, probably for the same reasons that he just gave you an ABBA t-shirt for your 13th birthday. I remember mine, I was actually 15 and was rockin’ out to a local band at a small venue in NY. The folded, utilitarian dark blue and chartreuse T, brandishing the clever band name across the chest spoke to me of it’s originality and truth. “Circadian Rhythm” it said in handwritten typographic glory. I wore that shirt till it relinquished it’s seams and stitches and fell to the ground in a tattered clump the last time I went to put it on.
Here is a selection beautiful shirts I’ve found over the past few days that demonstrate the artistry and passion that are behind the music I love. Thanks Jared, for letting me contribute!

I’m pretty sure my first was a brown Jars of Clay T with lyrics from Crazy Times, their first single off of Much Afraid. My collection now includes tons of others, but I’m pretty sure that was the first…

My first was a vintage t-shirt of The Doors I got from a thrift store when I was 13. I wish I still had that shirt! In high school I wore and bought every smashing pumpkins t-shirt I could find. My ninth grade yearbook picture I am wearing a Marylin Manson shirt. My favorite ever: my Hole “Live Through This” shirt. You were right, I do remember my first band t-shirt and more. Love em’
